Units hiring for the February 2020 Cohort: 3rd Floor Medical Unit: The medical floor is a 26 bed unit that provides exceptional care to adult patients. The most common diagnosis on the medical floor are patients with respiratory, cardiac, and sepsis diagnosis. In addition to the medical patients this unit provides care to observation patients. These patients are hospitalized for a shorter period of time. As a new nurse on the medical floor you will have a well-rounded scope of practice. 5th Floor Surgical Unit: Fifth floor is a 26 bed surgical floor that provides great care to orthopedic, urology and general surgery patients. 5th floor also provides exceptional care to pediatric patients. The most commonly admitted diagnoses for pediatric patients are respiratory distress, dehydration, pneumonia, sepsis, and fractures. As a nurse on 5th floor you will care for patients ranging from infancy to geriatric. We’ll celebrate milestones and acknowledge the value of spirituality in healing.   We’re proud of what we know, which includes how much there is to learn.   Your day.   As a NICU RN you need to know how to:   Recognize and address patients’ psychological and physical needs Foster continuity and quality of care with the best interest and well-being of patients and their families in mind Assess a patients’ medical status upon admission Assist in developing individualized treatment plans Comply with evaluation, treatment and documentation guidelines Oversee care delivered by LPNs and/or CNAs Participate in clinical team conferences Continually expand your knowledge Help improve our facility and safety programs Follow hospital, regulatory and professional guidelines, policies and procedures Communicate compassionately and effectively   Your experience.   We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:   ASN / ADN from an accredited program with the ability to obtain your BSN from an accredited program within four (4) years of hire unless you possess a minimum of fifteen (15) years of proven continuous Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting, required Current Colorado RN license or ability to obtain, required Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications, required At least one (1) year of nursing experience in a Level II or III NICU, highly preferred   Your next move.   Now that you know more about being a NICU RN on our team we hope you’ll join us.
