Your day. · As a Trauma Registrar you need to know how to: · Plan and manage the care site’s community injury prevention and trauma education/outreach program to improve awareness and increase support within the community · Identify, establish and maintain relationships with affiliated referring hospital staff, Emergency Medical Service agencies and communities throughout the region · Participate in trauma case review · Standardize trauma practice guidelines · Develop and implement all trauma projects involving pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics while promoting trauma standards of care according to the nationally accepted American College of Surgeon’s (ACS) guidelines · Analyze and measure the effectiveness of current Trauma Outreach programs and develop sustainable, quantifiable business and program improvement Your experience. We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require: · Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Paramedicine or related field · Colorado Registered Nurse license, Colorado Paramedic certification, or equivalent. · Current Basic Life Support certification. · Current certification of in at least two of the following within one year of employment: Trauma Nursing Core Course, Trauma Care After Resuscitation, Basic Trauma Life Support, Advanced Burn Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course, and Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support. · Minimum of three years of critical care, trauma/emergency, or public health experience · Experience in program development, teaching, and public speaking · Familiarity with EMS systems, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Trauma System, and local-state/national governing bodies responsible for the care of trauma patients (including SEMTAC, RETAC, and the American College of Surgeons) · Familiarity with injury prevention Preferred: · Instructor certification for any of the following: · Trauma Nursing Core Course, Trauma Care After Resuscitation, Basic Trauma Life Support, Advanced Burn Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course, and Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support · Certified Emergency Nurse, Trauma Certified Registered Nurse, or other specialty certification. · Previous experience in an injury prevention program · Experience with using and producing reports from trauma registry · Master’s degree preferred Your next move.
