Tidelands Waccamaw Rehabilitation Hospital
Tidelands Waccamaw Rehabilitation Hospital is a hospital within a hospital, located inside Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital. It is the region’s only inpatient rehabilitation facility, providing concentrated physical, occupational and speech therapy for acute patients. The rehabilitation hospital is one of a select few facilities in South Carolina accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

Tidelands Health was the first to bring radiation therapy to Georgetown County when we opened the Francis B. Ford Cancer Treatment Center in 2004. Position Summary: The Wound RN Case Manager works with the physicians to coordinate the continuation of patient care and provide patient care with wound healing. Responsible for services such as setting up home health, ordering DME, reports to referring physicians, and data base entry. This position requires the case management of up to 40 patients. Duties include patient chart reviews and other compliance review activities to assist the department. Position Summary: The Outpatient Infusion Registered Nurse reports to the Director of Wound/Infusion. This position is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice; accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered in the outpatient infusion services setting.  The Outpatient Infusion Registered Nurse will provide safe, effective, appropriate and comprehensive infusion services to non-oncology patients.  The infusion nurse demonstrates through patient care, both specialized knowledge and experience in infusion therapy. Maintains evidence of training and continued education in infusion specific opportunities.   Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Monitor drug therapy and identify drug related problems such as drug-drug interaction, adverse reactions, and inadequate therapy; takes appropriate steps to resolve drug related problems. Coordinates, provides, and ensures a continuum of care by collaborating with other healthcare providers both within and outside of the organization. Responsible for scheduling infusion therapy patient appointments. Responsible for obtaining required documentation supporting medical necessity, physician orders, insurance authorizations, supporting lab results, and patient demographics. Processes accurate and appropriate patient charges. Prioritizes incoming phone calls and faxes from patients/families and other medical personal as well as walk-ins. Utilize Barcode Medication Verification Educates the patient and family regarding the treatment plan Manage vascular access devices Utilize sterile technique daily while managing central venous lines Draw blood routinely Attends to any urgent patient care needs Assists with inventory management, to include ordering medical and pharmaceutical supplies for patient care. Position Summary: The Stroke & Sepsis Program Coordinator (SSPC) is responsible for the development and maintenance of the quality of care delivered to patients and their movement throughout the continuum of the programs from acute onset of diagnosis to rehabilitation and return into the community. In order to accomplish this objective the SSPC will providing coordination, planning and evaluation or the operations of the programs and ensure implementation of processes that includes collaboration with physicians, nurses and other hospital clinicians as needed.
