Tidelands Waccamaw Rehabilitation Hospital
Tidelands Waccamaw Rehabilitation Hospital is a hospital within a hospital, located inside Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital. It is the region’s only inpatient rehabilitation facility, providing concentrated physical, occupational and speech therapy for acute patients. The rehabilitation hospital is one of a select few facilities in South Carolina accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

Tidelands Health was the first to bring radiation therapy to Georgetown County when we opened the Francis B. Ford Cancer Treatment Center in 2004. Responsibilities Position Summary: The Stroke Program Coordinator (SPC) is responsible for the development and maintenance of the quality of care delivered to patients and their movement throughout the continuum of the programs from acute onset of diagnosis to rehabilitation and return into the community. In order to accomplish this objective the SPC will providing coordination, planning and evaluation or the operations of the programs and ensure implementation of processes that includes collaboration with physicians, nurses and other hospital clinicians as needed. The SSPC serves as the clinical expert, a role model and a resource for patients, families, clinical staff, nursing staff, physicians and the community in this area of expertise as well as initiates and leads the development of patient care protocols and co-leads the multidisciplinary team for Excellence in stroke care in collaboration with the Medial Directors. The SPC establishes and fosters collaborative relationships with physicians and clinicians in the care of the stroke patients and their family and actively seeks program improvements and best practices while also completing other duties assigned and while exhibiting excellence in TH core customer service delivery values. Qualifications Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience as a registered nurse with at least one year of that experience in neuroscience nursing required. Prior evidence based care knowledge and experience required. Prior specific experience with stroke and sepsis program care required.
