Nurses work with ostomies, central lines, G and J tubes, NG tubes, and total parental nutrition all in an effort to slowly rehabilitate the intestines. Psycho social components of this illness (and other GI illnesses) complicate the care. The Healthcare Team approach is particularly important in meeting all the complex needs of the patients and families.
