In our Medical/Surgical wing, we have three fully integrated operating rooms specializing in neurosurgery, orthopedics, robotics, gynecological procedures, and genitor-urinary procedures. Our acute rehabilitation hospital patient programs are among the most intensive and progressive, allowing nurses advanced training to specialize in orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation.

Casa Colina's physician leaders and rehabilitation teams provide innovative medical and rehabilitation services to more than 10,000 people a year. This continuum of care is provided within the Medical/Surgical Hospital, Rehabilitation Hospital and Outpatient Center; nearly 20 specialty physician programs; an associated imaging center and ambulatory surgery center; a thriving long-term residential program with six locations; an adult day health care center; a transitional living center; children's services at our campus and at school sites; plus many community programs.

The goal of the Medical/Surgical Nurse is to work in collaboration with the physician and other health care providers, to provide direct and indirect patient care. The RN will carry out functions within the scope of their professional license. The role encompasses the management of nursing care through implementation of the nursing process, supervision of licensed and unlicensed personnel, and coordination of interdisciplinary care. The RN will also establish short and long range goals for patient care which contribute to a continuum of care focus, and patient care will be delivered in accordance with the professional nursing process, and will result in the delivery of quality patient care. Requirements: Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program. Possess a current and valid California Registered Nurse license. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required. One year experience strongly preferred.

This position will assist with the daily care of patients and perform other functions such as bladder scans, time voiding, blood glucose bedside test testing, participation in the bowel program and other functions once competency has been validated. This position will be working in our Rehabilitation and Medical/Surgical units. Requirements: High School Graduate or GED. Must possess a current and valid California Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate or be currently enrolled in an accredited Registered Nurse program and have completed at least one year of the program. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) One-year experience required and rehabilitation experience preferred. Demonstrate initial ongoing competence in performing tasks for care.

The Operating Room Registered Nurse is a member of the patient care team in the Surgery Center responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient outcome(s) within the scope of their professional license. The nurse focuses on patient's rights, infection control principles, excellent outcomes, and patient safety issues when planning this care. The monitor technician is responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides RN’s and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. The monitor technician delivers telemetry to intermediate units and performs monitor hook-up/discharge, patient preparation, and teaching related to the monitor. Requirements:Prefer one year experience monitoring ECG/Dysrhythmia in a physician’s office, clinic, hospital or similar setting. Knowledge of basic anatomy/physiology of the heart. Ability to work under moderate pressure for extended periods of time. Ability to accept responsibility for accuracy and response times to emergent and non-emergent requests. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. High School Diploma or GED. Possess and maintain current certification in American Heart Association Basic life Support (BLS). Successful completion of a Dysrhythmia Course. Must take and pass EKG exam.

Bilingual abilities are preferred. CPR/AED is required. Applicants with current BLS may be hired, but must obtain AHA CPR/AED within thirty days of employment. High school graduate or equivalency.
