Job Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for efficient functioning of the monitoring area of the ADC. Responsible for maintaining efficient and timely turnaround time for ambulatory EKG and12 lead EKGs reports. Responsible for scanning, interpretation, and transcription of ambulatory EKG recordings. Responsible for assisting with the transcription and final reporting of all cardiac event recordings including holter reports. Takes incoming phone calls, responds to emails and ensures appropriate staff receive relevant information. Schedules appointments, assists with add on patients, manages report lists, work queues and other ancillary tasks within the department. Works directly with patients applying holters and cardiac monitors while also providing education for patient understanding related to the device and expectations of services provided. Acts as resource to others within and outside of Cardiology. Displays impeccable interpersonal, time management, organizational and patient service skills. Demonstrates proficiency with computer skills. Responsible for working collaboratively with management and coworkers to provide excellent service to our patients at all clinical sites. Qualifications

Education:

High School graduate or equivalent GED. Must complete a cardiac rhythm course within 1‐2 months of hire based on availability of class schedule. Must be able to pass cardiac rhythm test with no more than 2 attempts.

License & Cert:

CPR certification required or must be willing to obtain within 30 days. Addendums are required for 0153 Nurse Leader, 0249 Registry RN, 0252 Registered Nurse, 0235 Advanced Registered Nurse, and 0236 Expert Registered Nurse. To view addendums, go to the job description page on Parkview’s intranet.

Experience:

Must have 1‐2 years' experience in medical setting preferably with a cardiology background. Experience with cardiac rhythms preferred. Background in medical assisting or EKG technician preferred.

Other Qualifications:

Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Must exhibit proficiency with computers including skills with electronic medical records. Must be able to work independently within a fast‐paced environment. Must be willing to function on a team to ensure quality patient care is delivered.
