Overview

**This position is Hybrid: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote, with flexibility to vary.**

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift

Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Executive Director, Controller, is a senior finance executive responsible for the overall accuracy, timeliness, integrity and governance of all financial information across the enterprise, Hospital, Research and Foundation. Reporting to the SVP, Chief Financial Officer, this role provides executive leadership over general ledger operations, financial close, consolidated and entity-level financial reporting, internal controls, tax compliance, grant accounting, endowment accounting, and regulatory submissions. The Executive Director, Controller will serve as the PeopleSoft business owner and coordinates efforts with the Information Services department regard data integrity of the PeopleSoft and related systems, including training, as well as coordinating the implementation of other tools to increase usefulness of the financial information.

Critically, this Controller will serve as the Finance executive co-sponsor and operational lead for the organization's enterprise ERP conversion, guiding system design decisions, driving process transformation in parallel, and ensuring the Finance function emerges from the implementation stronger, leaner, and more strategically capable. The ideal candidate brings a rare combination of deep technical accounting expertise, proven large-scale ERP leadership, and the organizational influence to align clinical, operational and financial stakeholders around a shared transformation vision.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

Required:

  • 15+ years of progressive accounting experience with a significant portion in health care, hospital or integrated health system environments and/or large, complex, multi-entity accounting/operations experience.
  • 7+ years in senior leadership roles overseeing large accounting teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership of enterprise general ledger and consolidated financial reporting.
  • Direct, hands-on leadership experience with at least one full-cycle enterprise ERP implementation in a healthcare or complex not-for-profit organization, from system selection or design through post-go-live stabilization.
  • Knowledge and experience with information systems.
Preferred:
  • Extensive hands-on experience in re-engineering accounting processes, especially in an Oracle Fusion environment (or similar ERP).
Education/Licensure/Certifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License.
Preferred:
  • Master’s degree (MS Accounting, MBA or MHA).

Pay Scale Information

USD $201,552.00 - USD $322,483.00

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
