Position Summary

The Nurse Manager organizes and directs the administration of a defined clinical area with 24-hour responsibility and accountability. Applies the management concepts of planning, organizing, directing and controlling to implement the clinical nursing program in defined areas. Other responsibilities will be assigned as appropriate. • 2 years nursing experience

License/Registration/Certifications

• Current license of work permit to practice nursing in South Carolina

• Experience in management, clinical area, customer service, fiscal experience.

Core Job Responsibilities

• Manages nursing administration in identification of purpose and goals of nursing service and nursing education.
• Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates nursing care
• Coordinates staffing
• Manages budget preparation toward provision of adequate personnel, supplies and equipment.
• Assumes responsibilities for nursing care in assigned area.
• Counsels and evaluates nursing personnel for optimum performance and demonstrates and teaches the nursing staff the clinical aspects of nursing care.
• Develops and participates in orientation and in-service education programs for areas of specialization; assists and works cooperatively with faculty and student nurses who have clinical practice in the same area.
