Overview

Position Summary/Position Summary:

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), under the direct supervision of an attending anesthesiologist, administers or assists with the administration of anesthesia for patients of all ages who are undergoing surgery, radiologic procedures, or any procedure requiring anesthesia. CRNAs will be involved in all aspects of perioperative care including pre-operative assessment, initiation and maintenance of general and/or regional anesthesia, sedation, airway management, emergence, and post-anesthesia care.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:

Experience in pediatric nursing or anesthesia preferred. Prior experience in pediatric nursing, pediatric anesthesia, or in the anesthetic management of critically ill patients strongly preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certifications:

Required:

  • Graduate nurse from an accredited school of nursing.
    • Graduate of a program of nurse anesthesia of at least 24 months duration approved by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
  • Current RN license from the State of California.
  • Current California Nurse Anesthetist certification.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Satisfactory completion of the qualifying examination of the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists (CCNA).
  • Evidence of continuing education in anesthesia and re-certification by the Council on Re-certification of Nurse Anesthetists 2 years after passing the certification exam and every 2 years thereafter.

Pay Scale Information

$199,056.00-$322,483.00

The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
