Job Description Summary
The ECT/ Saint TMS RN will oversee the care of patients from their consultation until they complete their treatment course. RNs will monitor vitals, assess orientation status, document patient status using EPIC flowsheets, and perform chest port access/de-access using sterile technique. They will understand medications given during ECT as well as psychotropic medications, they will conduct intake for new patients and potential patients (allergies, med reconciliation, chart review, etc.) The RN will be able to conduct prior authorizations for ECT and TMS as well as administer TMS, SNT treatments on the MagVenture machine using Magnus software. RNs will also follow-up with patients after treatment course and help plan next steps.Entity

Job Description
General
Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice. Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). Provide patient/family centered care using the nursing process and focusing on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. This includes providing for the assessment, development of nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementation of interventions, coordination of care, health teaching and promotion and evaluation of goals and interventions consistent with the policies of MUSC. Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment through ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior. Demonstrates the ability to function in a professional setting through active participation in a professional practice model. This includes participating in shared governance, adherence to standards of care, participation in peer review and professional development promoting leadership and clinical excellence, effective team skills, autonomous practice and acknowledgment of accountability for actions and critical thinking.
Specific (individualized/ clinic based)

They will understand medications given during ECT as well as psychotropic medications, they will conduct intake for new patients and potential patients (allergies, med reconciliation, chart review, etc.) The RN will be able to conduct prior authorizations for ECT and TMS as well as administer TMS, SNT treatments on the MagVenture machine using Magnus software. RNs will also follow-up with patients after treatment course and help plan next steps.
The TMS Nurse will be able to document patient status using progress notes, conduct intake for new patients and consults (allergies, med reconciliation, chart review, etc.), understand psychotropic medications, conduct prior authorizations for ECT/TMS, administer TMS treatments on different machines (MagVenture, Brainsway, and Neurostar), and follow-up with patients after treatment course.
Additional Job Description
Required Minimum Training and Education: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or Nursing License Compact. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Current South Carolina RN License or multi-state Nursing License Compact and BLS required. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
Physical Requirements: Continuous requirements are to perform job functions while standing, walking and sitting. Ability to bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, reach in all directions, fully use both hands and legs, possess good finger dexterity, perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders, reach in all directions. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required. Maintain 20/40 vision corrected, see and recognize objects close at hand and at a distance, work in a latex safe environment and work indoors. Frequently lift, lower, push and pull and/or carry objects weighing 50 lbs (+/-) unassisted, exert up to 50 lbs of force, lift from 36” to overhead 25 lbs. Infrequently work in dusty areas and confined/cramped spaces.
