Unit Description

Our Cath Lab is at the forefront of minimally invasive interventional cardiology, where innovation meets patient care. You will be part of a team performing a variety of cutting-edge procedures, including:

• Diagnostic Testing: Identifying heart conditions such as blockages.
• Interventional Procedures: Atherectomy, coronary angioplasty, chronic total occlusion treatment, and more.

As a Cath Lab RN, you will receive comprehensive training to handle the complexities of these procedures. With case volumes ranging from 6 to 36 per day, you will thrive in this challenging yet incredibly rewarding role if you enjoy a team-oriented environment and have strong communication skills.

Cath Lab Facts

• On-Call Requirements: One night a week (Monday – Thursday) and every 6th weekend, with a 30-minute response time.
• Collaborative Environment: Nurses scrub, chart, and circulate; techs scrub and chart.
• High-Tech Gear: You will be required to wear lead during procedures, ensuring you are equipped with the best tools for the job.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensure/Certifications: Current RN licensure in South Carolina, BLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC.
• Experience: At least two (2) years of RN experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: BSN.
• Experience: Background in Cath Lab, cardiac, telemetry, critical care, operating room, interventional radiology, ER, or med/surg.

• Collaborate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to determine patient care priorities.
• Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration for enhanced patient outcomes.
• Provide clinical guidance to students and ancillary staff.
• Participate in hourly rounding and bedside shift reports.
• Ensure compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
• Engage in continuous professional development and serve on unit-based committees.
• Prioritize nursing interventions based on patient assessments and needs.
