Job Requirements

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cath Lab Outpatient Heart and Vascular Center

Location: Spartanburg, SC

Work Schedule: 4-10 hours shifts, no call, no weekends, no holidays

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cath Lab Outpatient Heart and Vascular Center at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, you will play a key role in assisting with a variety of minimally invasive interventional and diagnostic cardiovascular procedures in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Under the direction of the Manager, you will help perform:

  • Diagnostic imaging to assess for vascular blockages or narrowing.
  • Vascular interventional procedures, including:
  • Atherectomy
  • Peripheral Angioplasty
  • Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) treatment
  • Intravascular Imaging
  • Vein Ablations
  • Stent placement
  • Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) to evaluate structural heart disease, blood clots, or arrhythmias.
  • Cardioversions
  • Implantation or removal of subcutaneous rhythm monitors (Loop Recorders)

You will receive extensive training to ensure your expertise and proficiency in pre-, intra-, and post-procedure care, handling a patient census ranging from 6 to 14 cases daily. This role is ideal for those who thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment with strong communication skills.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of cardiac experience
  • License/Certification:
  • Current RN license in South Carolina
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (required for Cardiac Rehab and Outpatient Heart and Vascular Center)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Experience: 2 years of cardiac experience in an Outpatient Heart and Vascular Center

  • Adhere to infection control protocols and ethical documentation standards.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and charting.
  • Participate in hospital-based committees and continuous professional development.
  • Deliver exceptional patient care through informed decision-making and effective communication with the healthcare team.
