This is a full‑time temporary summer position working onsite for the duration of the camp season.
Children’s National Hospital and Melwood have partnered to deliver an unforgettable, inclusive summer program where fun meets exceptional care.
Hosted at the 108‑acre Melwood Recreation Center in rural Charles County, Maryland, Camp Accomplish provides beautiful outdoor spaces, accessible facilities, and an environment where every camper can succeed.
The Camp Nurse plays a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of campers and staff, supporting a medically diverse community in a dynamic summer camp setting.
· Provide health care to meet individual needs of campers and minor needs of Children’s and Melwood staff.
· Organize, maintain, and utilize adequate resources for serving the health and medical needs of the campers and staff.
· Maintain accurate and detailed medical records according to State and American Camp Association standards.
· Oversee First Aid procedure and supplies.
· Screen all campers who are arriving and departing camp.
Required
· Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN)
· At least 1 year of nursing experience
· Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
· Current CPR certification
· Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred
· 2+ years of nursing experience
· Experience working with children, teens, or individuals with disabilities or chronic health conditions (a plus)
Work Schedule
· Full‑time hours for the entire summer camp season
· Onsite at the Melwood Recreation Center in Nanjemoy, MD
