UCLA-Santa Monica Rape Treatment Center (RTC) is a specialty clinic that provides trauma informed acute forensic medical care for victims of sexual assault/abuse. The Per Diem NP will provide on-call clinic coverage to ensure sexual assault/abuse medical forensic examinations are available 24 hours a day. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: direct patient care services, providing sexual assault/abuse forensic medical examinations, coordination of medical and follow up care, and crisis intervention; assisting RTC NP Supervisors with Clinic operations, and facilitating collaboration with hospital departments and community agencies (Law Enforcement, District Attorneys, crime labs, etc.). The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate “standardized procedures” (SPs). By using the SPs the NP is able to change the treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior, and physical condition, and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection (b) of Section 2725). This is a Per Diem on-call position.
Minimum requirements include: 1 night/week and one weekend/month (approx. 90hrs/month), plus holiday coverage. There is an approximate 30-minute response time to the clinic. This role is in Santa Monica, CA. Salary: $98.95/hour plus shift differential, On-Call $18/hour.
