The PTU/PACU RN provides comprehensive preoperative and postoperative care for patients undergoing surgical and invasive procedures. Responsibilities include performing patient assessments, preparing patients for procedures, monitoring recovery from anesthesia, managing pain and postoperative complications, administering medications, and providing patient and family education. The RN collaborates with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care and efficient patient flow. This position supports the Operating Room (OR), Medical Procedure Unit (MPU), Cath lab, Interventional Radiology (IR) and other procedural areas, including participation in on call, evening, weekend and holiday coverage. The role requires strong critical thinking, clinical assessment skills, and the ability to provide safe, compassionate care in a fast-paced perioperative environment.
