This is a small team that works closely with the physician groups to coordinate follow up appointments to the patient being discharged.
Schedule: In person 8:00AM-4:30PM Monday-Friday

Summary:
This position provides clerical support to providers on inpatient medical units. Employees expedite services with other hospital departments and relay messages to providers from patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other staff.
Responsibilities:
1. Assists providers with arranging patient discharge.
2. Coordinates and expedites services outlined on providers orders with appropriate staff throughout the hospital.
3. Observes, collects, and documents patient information as requested by providers. Promptly reports significant information and changes to a registered nurse or physician.
4. Performs general office support duties as needed.
5. Procures equipment and supplies needed by providers for examinations and procedures.
6. Provides indirect care to patients as directed by providers.
7. Rounds with medical teams daily to assist physicians (e.g., obtains lab and test results).
8. Schedules return appointments for patients.

Education Requirements:
● High School diploma or General Education Development (GED)
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Professional Experience Requirements:
● Minimum of 1 year as NA, CMA, HUC, or other patient facing clinical experience, plus 6 months of experience in a clerical, customer service or medical administration position.
