Job Description

UOVUNIUSR0083988EXTERNALENUS

Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Transition Unit R0083988

A highly versatile cardiac nursing opportunity designed for clinicians who want to expand beyond a traditional, single-unit role. This position plays a critical role in supporting patients across key transition points in their cardiac care journey, contributing directly to procedural success, recovery outcomes, and continuity of care.

This is an opportunity to practice in a dynamic, multi-environment setting where you will build advanced cardiac and procedural experience while working alongside an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced, evolving unit. Nurses who thrive here are those who value variety, adaptability, and continuous professional growth.

The Role:

The Cardiac Transition Unit supports patients across procedural, recovery, and inpatient preparation workflows, creating a highly interactive and adaptable nursing environment. This role blends hands-on patient care with procedural exposure and cross-team coordination, offering a more comprehensive clinical experience than traditional unit-based nursing roles.

On any given shift, you will rotate through responsibilities that expand both your skillset and perspective:

  • Provide direct patient care for individuals in the pre-procedure, recovery, and transition phases of cardiac care
  • Support cardiology procedures such as cardioversion and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), gaining valuable procedural experience
  • Assist with ICPC workflows, preparing and coordinating patients transitioning to inpatient care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across procedural and inpatient settings to ensure safe, efficient patient flow
  • Adapt to a fast-paced, high-variability environment where assignments shift based on patient needs and unit priorities
  • Work within a safety-focused staffing model designed to maintain strong coverage and support at all times
  • Build new competencies through cross-training and skill development opportunities, including advanced cardiac and procedural techniques

This role is ideal for RNs from cardiac, ICU, or step-down backgrounds, as well as those looking to break out of a more traditional workflow and gain broader experience across the cardiac care continuum.
