Be the Nurse who creates better patient outcomes. At UVA Health’s Main Operating Room, Operating Room RNs practice in one of the most focused, high‑impact roles in nursing—caring for one patient at a time while partnering closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical teams during life‑changing procedures. You’ll work in an environment where precision matters, advocacy is essential, and your expertise directly influences outcomes at the most critical moments.
As part of a Magnet® Recognized academic medical center, you’ll join a perioperative team often described as a finely tuned orchestra—each role essential, every voice respected, and every case powered by trust, preparation, and shared purpose. The Main OR team performs nearly 60,000 procedures each year, supporting everything from highly specialized elective surgeries to urgent, life‑saving interventions. Here, leadership is deeply connected to patient advocacy, because in surgery, “we become the patient.”
