Job Overview:
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Assistant Director of Patient Care for the Medical Surgical Unit II at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus. The Assistant Director of Patient Care Assists the Administrative Director of Patient Care to manage and deliver patient care services. Supports the nursing staff in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care based on department and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Required
BSN or currently matriculating
At least 3 years Nursing management experience
Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing
Preferred
MSN highly preferred
Certifications and Licenses Required
BLS certification
Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
Scheduling Requirements:
Day shift 36 hours per week
Essential Functions:
Directs patient care in a manner which ensures that the standards of patient care, hospital and regulatory agencies are met; ensures that the nursing process forms the basis for delivery of excellent patient care.
Promotes quality of patient care through developing plans for patient care delivery in assigned areas; recommends/selects appropriate unit based indicators to measure performance and communicates findings as required; collaborates with nursing administration to provide leadership for short or long term planning of the department in accordance with all hospital and regulatory agencies.
Acts as a mentor/educator to Administrative Supervisors, Directors and staff; appropriately coordinates and integrates nursing care with departments within the facility; develops and implements policy and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.
Confers with department directors soliciting their counsel about any problems in technique, procedures within the Nursing Division.
