Follows standards of care as outlined by Vail Health and Colorado Nurse Practice Act. Supports the coordination of the daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety, and satisfaction. Maintains confidentiality of patient, staff, and hospital administration. Provides care within scope of practice as established by the privileges granted through the Vail Health Medical Staff Office. Competency in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to assure high standards of patient care, patient satisfaction, and safety are maintained as documented by supervising physicians review. Provides patient education relating to current medical issues and to promote healthy lifestyle choices. Displays and promotes professional, courteous, and collaborative interaction with patients/families, providers, staff, other Vail Health departments, and leadership in meeting patient care needs and promoting teamwork. Demonstrates ability to delegate care appropriately and according to Colorado statute. Ensures that patient documentation is in accordance with accreditation and regulatory compliance standards. Demonstrates competency in triage, diagnosis, and treatment to assure high standards of patient care and safety are maintained. Two years experience as a nurse practitioner in related area preferred. License and certifications per the employee's contract, with credentialing by the Medical Staff Office Successful completion of a masters or post-master’s degree from a nurse practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
