Schedule: 8-hour days, 9am-5:30pm
Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Medical Assistant performs a variety of patient care and clerical activities to assist physicians, nursing and clerical personnel. Demonstrates commitment to a patient and family focused model of care.
Ambulatory Shared Clinics: Cardiology, Rheumatology, CARES. Responsible for vital signs, audits of clinic, patient questionnaires (vaccine history, current medication lists etc), medication refill requests, rooming patients, discharging patients, wipe down of high touch surfaces, coordination of providers assignments to exam rooms daily, stocking supplies and reordering, completing engineering/facilities requests as needed. Patient tests/procedures for some specialty clinics such as cardiology- including 6 minute walk tests, EKGs, and zio patch placement.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 2+ years medical assistant experience preferred. 1+ year experience in pediatrics preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required. Cardiology experience and trauma informed care experience preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certifications: Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program required. California Medical Assistant certification preferred. American Heart Association BLS required.
