Position Summary
The Employee Health nurse promotes the health and safety of SRHS healthcare workers. Registered nurses perform health assessments to assess employee's ability to perform essential functions of the job according to protocols including pre-placement, annual, and return to work assessments. In collaboration with the Employee Health/Occupational Health NP/MD, RN's provide initial assessment, first-aid, and counseling for work-related injuries, illnesses and exposures.
Minimum Requirements
Education
• Associates Degree in Nursing
Experience
• 3-5 years nursing experience
License/Registration/Certifications
• SC RN License
• BLS CPR

Core Job Responsibilities
• Perform Pre-placement Health assessments including review of past medical history
• Perform Annual Health Assessments
• Perform Wellness Annual Assessments
• Administer and read PPDs according to policy
• Administer vaccinations per policy
• Perform assessment, first aid, counseling and NP/MD referrals for work related injuries, illnesses and exposures
• Perform venipunctures for labs
• Perform drug screens and review results with referral of positives to MRO
• Provide consultation and referral for minor acute illnesses
• Participate in wellness coaching and wellness program enrollment
• Collaborates with team members of safe-patient handling program
• Refers employees for pre-work screens per policy
• Performs return to work assessments per policy
• Documents in the electronic and paper medical record
• Charge duties as assigned
