Job Summary:
A virtual registered nurse (RN) is responsible for remote patient management and care in the inpatient setting. As a member of the patient care team, the RN collaborates, communicates, and facilitates care with providers and patients or families. Virtual nurses maintain patient anonymity and safety through the use of various technological platforms. To be successful in the role, a nurse should be comfortable making autonomous clinical decisions to provide patient-centered care.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
Experience: Advancement from an RN I or at least one (1) year, continuous experience in a comparable patient care setting. RNs must remain at this level for a minimum of one year before applying for advancement.
Certification(s): Reference Mandatory Education for Clinical and Support Staff Policy for most current Certification requirements and complete required certifications within the grace period.
License(s): Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
External Hires: Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based upon relevant experience.

Originally known as St. Ann’s Hospital, the hospital opened in 1886 and was operated by the Sisters of St. Ann until the 1960s. In 1965, the hospital’s operations were turned over to the City and Borough of Juneau, and a new facility was built at the hospital’s present location on Hospital Drive.
Bartlett Regional Hospital is licensed for a total of 57 inpatient beds and 16 residential substance-abuse treatment facility beds in the Rainforest Recovery Center. The hospital serves a 15,000-square-mile region in the northern part of Southeast Alaska. Approximately 55,000 people reside in our service area, with most communities inaccessible by road.
