Description The Liver Cancer Clinical Nurse is a professional registered nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for patients within the Hepatobiliary Cancer Clinic. This responsibility involves coordination of interdisciplinary care systems; liaison functions with patients, family, medical staff, and insurance companies; individualized patient and family teaching; assessment of the use and resources necessary for care. Responsibility involves coordination of interdisciplinary medical care delivery system under the direction of the Section Chief and/or Hepatobiliary surgeons, and Nurse Manager; liaison functions with patient, family, medical staff, referring physicians, and insurance companies; individualized patient/family teaching; assessment of appropriate medical intervention for effective use of resources and quality assurance.
