Two of the private rooms can be converted into semi-private rooms in times of a higher census. The average daily census on the unit is 30. The patient population of PRI is diverse. We accept all patients age 17 and older. PRI specializes in caring for general medical patients and those patients with Pulmonary, Renal, and Infection control disease processes. The most frequent diagnoses for our patients are pneumonia, respiratory infections, asthma, COPD, long-term/home ventilators, tracheostomies, pancreatitis, GI bleeds, end-stage renal disease, diabetes, and drug and alcohol withdrawal. In addition, PRI specializes in isolation patient care including patients with MRSA, VRE, C-Diff, and TB. The strong staff and excellent teamwork make a position on this unit desirable. The Mother Infant Unit consists of 24 rooms and 29 beds; 5 rooms can accommodate semi-private occupancy, and a Level I newborn nursery area designed for the purpose of providing respite when needed, observation of high risk infants, and a procedure room.  The philosophy of the unit is to foster family unity in a Baby Friendly™ environment while respecting parental choices regarding feeding and rooming- in, providing safe and therapeutic care.  Health Care providers in this area mimic those in the Birth Center with the inclusion of pediatric care providers and lactation specialists.  MIU provides supportive care of the mother/infant dyad with focus on the family, infant and self-care procedures and education. Both human milk and formula feeding are supported and educated to, with special emphasis on the benefits of human lactation. California RN Licensure, BLS, and NRP required.  At least one year experience in mother infant care required.

This position is eligible for a Sign-On Bonus. The OR has 15 suites, including an intraoperative MRI performing vascular and neuro procedures. All ORs have Stryker integrated technology and all service lines have the latest technology. We perform approximately 700 cases a month and provide all operative services, except transplants. Neurology/Urology is a 30-bed unit (including 10 neuro observation beds and 4 beds dedicated to epilepsy monitoring) with an average daily censes of 24 patients.  Our typical patient population includes cervical, thoracic, lumbar fusions, as well as microspinal surgeries; status post craniotomies, subarachnoid hemorrhages, aneurysm coiling, cerebral/carotid stenting, strokes, and seizures. Urology patients include cystos, TURPs, and laparoscopic radical prostatectomies.  California RN licensure and BLS required.
