Req #: 186526 Summary Summary The Patient Placement Specialist is responsible for managing daily patient flow and serves as the central coordination point for all admissions across Parkview Health and its affiliates. Conducts an initial high-level assessment of all incoming admission requests and rapidly initiates emergent transfers when indicated. Accurately identifies the appropriate specialty or service line based on patient condition and facilitates timely physician-to-physician communication to ensure safe clinical handoffs and continuity of care. Working collaboratively with the Point of Entry Case Manager, the Patient Placement Specialist ensures that all patients have verified admission orders and appropriate status reviews. Continuously monitors and forecasts bed availability by evaluating current, predicted, and anticipated transfers and discharges.
