Description
A nursing student employed for the purpose of giving patient care under the direction and supervision of an assigned registered nurse.
Required qualifications:
Current enrollment in and satisfactory completion of all but the last year (3 quarters/2 semesters) of a Washington State Nursing Commission approved and a nationally accredited nursing program such as Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
BSN program preferred.
Nursing program education and practice in the scope of care for the patient population on the unit of hire (i.e. pediatrics, med/surg, OB, etc.)
The nursing technician will provide SMC written documentation by their nursing program of the specific nursing functions/tasks they are able to perform.
