Job Description Summary The Endoscopy Procedure Registered Nurse II on the Endoscopy Unit reports to the Nurse Manager. The Procedure RN assist with general endoscopy procedures, such as colonoscopy and EGD. Responsibilities include being on call rotation for emergent and urgent therapeutic endoscopy procedures, which includes holidays, night and some weekends. Responsibilities also include performing instrument inspection, decontamination and disinfection of endoscopes and instruments in compliance with medical center policies and procedures, state, local and federal requirements. Here at UNC’s first outpatient endoscopy unit, there is an enormous amount of opportunities for medical professionals to grow, learn and develop into GI experts. Currently we operate 3 procedural rooms daily; with an average case load of 12-13 per room. The GI Meadowmont leadership and staff pride ourselves on teamwork. We have cultivated an environment where team camaraderie and peer support translates to a healthy and strong work culture. Our hours of operation are Monday- Friday from 8-430pm.
