Job Requirements The Mary Black Campus combines Pre-OP and PACU as one department. Our nurses are trained to perform in both areas. The Pre-OP area currently includes 15 rooms in which patients are being prepped for surgery following recognized standards of care (ex. ERAS). Our nurses assist the anesthesia department to perform regional blocks prior to surgery which helps patients with pain management during and after their procedure. The PACU has 10 monitored bays, 4 discharge rooms, and 1 isolation room. We serve surgical patients of all ages (except neonatal patients) after general or local anesthesia until they are ready to move on to the next level of care or to be discharged. Cases performed at Mary Black include total joint replacements, arthroscopic procedures of different joints, Hand Surgery, Podiatry, General Surgery, ENT, Ophthalmology, Gynecology, and Urology.
