BSMMHPUSR279108EXTERNALENUS Job Summary: The RN Radiation Oncology provides nursing care and patient education for the patient during radiation therapy treatment course.  The RN Radiation Oncology will assist with IV therapy for CT simulation.    Essential Functions:  Performs direct patient care and implements the Radiation Oncologist’s order(s).  Assesses patients prior to being seen by the physician.  Documents and evaluates all patient related information such as weight, vital signs, and medications.  Assesses patients for special needs and plans appropriate nursing interventions: a) Skin reactions; b) dietary needs; c) social service needs and d) psychological needs.  Communicates with patients via phone regarding acute situations then notifies physician and provides appropriate follow up to the patient.  Assures comprehensive patient care based on appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and education of the patient.  Supports patient...
