Job Description Summary The RN in endoscopy prepares the surgical patient for Endoscopy Room readiness. Records and verifies medications, performs patient assessment for surgery, verifies history, starts IV's, administers medications per physician/anesthesia order, receives the patient into post op care after surgical procedure from PACU, attest to wound/surgical site and charts the status, addresses pain management of the post op patient and discharges the patient from facility to home after verbally going over the post op care instructions, return appointment with the caregiver present.
