Description
The Children's Emergency Response RN role utilizes the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation) to coordinate, delegate and provide safe therapeutic nursing care to pediatric patients throughout the Children’s Hospital. As an emergency responder, this nurse will respond (along with the appropriate teams) to Pediatric Rapid Response, Pediatric Code Blue and Pediatric Trauma events with a primary function of collaborating with other disciplines and to provide continuity of patient care.
Activities include, but are not limited to:
promoting effective team interactions
facilitating timely assessment and disposition
transfer of the patient for off unit procedures and between levels of care
Additional responsibilities of the CERT RN is to promote optimal patient outcomes through the safe and effective provision and maintenance of pediatric vascular access
