Job Description Description Paramedic provides rapid assessment and treatment to patients experiencing acute and life-threatening conditions. Responsibilities may include performing patient assessments, obtaining vital signs and ECGs, initiating IV access, administering medications and treatments under physician direction, assisting with airway management and resuscitation, responding to trauma and medical emergencies, and supporting nurses and providers during procedures. ED Paramedics also help monitor patients, communicate changes in condition to the care team, document patient care, and assist with patient flow and safe transitions of care.
