This particular position can be referred to as our ACPW (Alternate Care PathWays) APP. ACPWs quickly facilitate and move patients to safe, less expensive sites of service, while still delivering high quality care and avoiding potential risks associated with hospitalization. Said another way, sometimes people present at the ED (Emergency Department) who need to be seen quickly, but don’t necessarily require hospitalization – these are patients with specific, moderate acuity conditions who are medically stable.
