Job Description:
Position Summary
Under the leadership of the department director, assistant director, charge nurse, the Nursing Assistant/Unit Receptionist/Monitor Tech will take vital signs and assist with activities of daily living and comfort measures for an assigned group of patients. The Nursing Assistant/Unit Receptionist/Monitor Tech also performs clerical and receptionist duties related to assigned department. The Unit Receptionist/ Monitor Tech is responsible for cardiac monitoring of all patients on monitor including rhythm, rate and alarms. Recognizes the importance of meeting customer expectations, and demonstrates a positive attitude and efficient use of resources, and performs related duties as necessary to fulfill the customer's needs. Performs duties according to the policy and procedures of CHOMP and the department under the direct supervision of an RN.
Experience
One year (in the last 2 years) of experienced preferred in acute hospital or long term care setting. Must demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology, strong computer skills and ability to multi-task. Must be detail oriented, organized, have exceptional phone etiquette, communication skills, be able to multi-task and work in a busy demanding work environment. Critical thinking skills are essential. Cardiac monitoring skills are preferred
Education
High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent work experience in related field preferred. A Certified Nursing Assistant course or relevant work experience is required.
Must pass orientation and initial competency assessment prior to independent assignment and must complete and pass all annual competencies.
Licensure/Certifications
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification is required.
