Required Certifications and Licenses:
Active NJ RN License or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement
BLS certification through American Heart Association
BSN Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
Minimum two (2) years supervisory/leadership experience
Essential Functions:
The Director of Patient Care is responsible for defining, planning, developing, implementing and evaluating the philosophy and objectives for their designated areas to insure the optimal delivery in care and services to all patients in an environment that promotes professional development and continues to assure financial viability. The primary goal is the delivery of competent, efficient and cost effective care.
Leadership Facilitates interdisciplinary communication/collaboration with all members of health care team/ patient/family by: participating with unit level staff, medical staff, department managers to promote coordination of services; collaborating with Education Specialist / APN to meet educational needs of the unit staff;
Acting as a liaison between family, patient, physician and staff; plans and promotes for leadership succession;
Balances professional and personal pursuits; Holds healthcare team accountable; Validate programs and outcomes,
Standards and Regulatory Readiness Ensures excellence in clinical nursing practice and delivery of safe patient care by: Monitoring the implementation of the plan of care with clinical outcomes,
Maintains adherence to Newark Beth Israel Medical Center policies and procedures,
Maintaining regulatory readiness,
Utilizing performance improvement process to improve the quality of patient care,
Participating in Nursing policy formulation and decision making,
