Job Overview: The psychiatric inpatient 22 bed Dual Diagnosis Mental Illness DDMI unit specializes in treatment of patients with autism and intellectual disabilities and varying medical complexities Trinitas is proud to be the only hospital in New Jersey with a separate unit to serve this population The psychiatric inpatient 27 bed closed unit is an involuntary unit Patients are committed to being inpatient for treatment and can have varying medical complexities The psychiatric inpatient 21bed open unit is a voluntary unit Patients are able to sign themselves in for treatment and can have varying medical complexities Our staff are cross trained to work all the units within our inpatient behavioral health department
Scheduling Requirements:
Per Diem
Night
Monday – Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation as needed by dept
Qualifications:
Active New Jersey  RN License or approved RN license required
ASN or BSN required
AHA BLS prior to start date required
Minimum one (1) year experience in Behavioral Health Nursing required
Previous experience in Med Surg, Telemetry, and/or ER Nursing a plus
Psychiatric-Mental Health certifications and/or national nursing certifications preferred
Essential Functions: The Registered Nurse (RN) organizes and administers individualized age-specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Supports the philosophy, objectives and the mission and vision of Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the Department of Nursing. Practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, TJC requirements and other regulatory agencies. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities.
