Benefits: This is not a benefited position. In lieu of benefits, an additional 15% premium is added to the base pay for all Per Diem (Casual) employees.   RESPONSIBILITIES Deliver safe and effective administration of chemotherapy and other prescribed treatments to patients. Assist in developing and scheduling outpatient procedures, ensuring a smooth patient experience. On admission, performs a focused physical-psycho-social assessment on assigned patients utilizing all available sources of information. Maintain accurate and timely patient records, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and hospital standards. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE An active Registered Nurse license with the State of Alaska is required. Current BLS, ACLS. and PALS certifications. Certification in Oncology Nursing or Chemotherapy Infusion preferred Minimum one year of RN experience in chemotherapy infusion or med-surg; three years preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while ensuring patient safety and care quality. Must have a thorough understanding of age-specific patient care needs from neonate to geriatric populations. Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform moderate physical activity including walking, standing, and sitting. ENVIRONMENT The South Peninsula Hospital is a combined 22-bed Acute Care Critical Access Hospital with a 9-bed Emergency department and 28-bed Long Term Care facility located at the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula in South-Central Alaska. The atmosphere is professional, well-maintained, and highly collaborative. Job hazards include exposure to biohazardous materials, infectious diseases, muscle strains, and potential falls, all of which require strict adherence to safety protocols.
