Job Description:
Under the leadership of the department assistant director, the Clinical Educator is responsible for providing formal and informal education programs for the staff of Hospice of the Central Coast. To inform the needs of staff education, the Clinical Educator will spend 40% of their time completing field visits in home and facility settings. Additionally, the educator will support chart audits and data collection with the aim of identifying learning opportunities of hospice staff. Hospice leadership will also assist in identifying education needs.
The Clinical Educator possesses a broad scope of knowledge and skills to facilitate improved patient outcomes and improved staff performance in the clinical setting. The Clinical Educator possesses the skills and knowledge to competently provide the appropriate services to patients and staff.
Experience
No less than 2 years in the last 5 years of med/surg nursing and/or experience in formal and informal teaching of adult learners. Hospice nursing experience preferred.
Education
MSN preferred. Minimum of BSN or equivalent.
Licensure/Certifications
State of California RN license required. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required.
