PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT – The LNA Intern Program allows nursing students the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive clinical environment working side-by-side with highly skilled RN Preceptors who will facilitate the learning experience. This program assists the Intern to develop a greater level of self-confidence. The Intern will have the opportunity to build upon clinical skills, improve communication, critical thinking and time-management skills. This program builds on the fundamentals of nursing education, theoretical knowledge, awareness of the role of the professional nurse and an understanding of organizational structure and operations within an acute care setting.
The LNA Intern will be working two 12-hour shifts as an LNA on one of our units and doing one 12-hour shift shadowing a Nurse Preceptor on a unit that they are interested in.
Minimum Qualifications: -Must have successfully completed Junior Year of an accredited RN Program and currently enrolled in good standing. -Current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is strongly preferred. -Resume and one (1) letter of recommendation (on school letterhead) from a nursing faculty member. The letter should address these personal attributes: communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, personal motivation and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. -Current unofficial transcript.
Required Licensure/Certification Skills: -Current and active NH LNA license -Current BLS certification for the Healthcare provider -Satisfactory completion of a Dartmouth Health pre-employment physical, immunization and relevant background checks.
