Job Summary

PAT is a small but mighty team-oriented department. We prepare patients for elective surgeries or invasive procedures by obtaining thorough medical histories via intake calls or in-person interviews. Patient population includes all ages, pediatrics to geriatrics. We evaluate the patient’s medical history and surgical/procedural plan using PAT anesthesia protocols. Team members collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure a safe and timely surgery/procedure with optimal outcomes. We provide professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.

Hours:

Monday-Friday, no weekends or holidays. (Hours variable between 0800-1730)

Shift: 2-3 days per week, 8 hour shifts

This position is in Pre Admission Testing.

Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.


Required Qualifications

- Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
- Require successful completion of annual Orthopedic Education requirements upon hire and then annually as outlined in the Orthopedic Program(s) Education Plan.


Preferred Qualifications

- Prefer certification in nursing specialty area.


Preferred Education

BSN: Bachelor of Science Nursing


Required License and Certs

BLS: Basic Life Support/CPR
FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License

Shift: 2-3 days per week, 8 hour shifts
