Responsibilities Responsible for all aspects of patient care for the OB/GYN Clinic. Performs all aspects of patient care within the clinic including assisting with procedures, phlebotomy, following up on labs and prescriptions, patient education under the supervision of the RN, coordinating and directing clinic patient flow and clinic activities, administering medications, ordering clinic supplies, maintaining exam rooms and clinic and other tasks essential to the proper functioning of the clinic. Ensure that standard operating procedures of all clinic operations are established and adhered to, and that tasks are performed in an accurate, safe and timely manner. Perform assessment and patient intervention, adherence to good clinical practice, compliance with approved patient recruitment and enrollment procedures, proper chart documentation, and quality assurance. Assist in administration of the CPSP program to ensure excellence in comprehensive perinatal care. Qualifications Preferred: Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures. Required: Ability to take vitals signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed. Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician. Knowledge of symptomatology of common and or life threatening medical problems. Interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with the physicians, staff, and all health providers. Performs phlebotomy, CPR, Injections, IV starts/fluids, and other skills within scope of practice. Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, Windows computer function, computer navigation, and ability to use computerized patient care systems. Possess license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners.
