Provides and coordinates education related to the urgent care area. Functions as a consultant and resource for education, role development, building collaborative partnerships, and research through evidence based practice/quality improvement, orientation/onboarding of new hires and competency management. Responsibilities include communicating with site managers and leadership to identify training needs and map out development plans for teams and individuals. Accountabilities Learning Facilitator The educator uses the educational design process to bridge the knowledge, skills, and/or practice gaps identified through a needs assessment. Critical Behaviors: Employs teaching and evaluation strategies grounded in both educational theory and evidence-based practices taking into consideration the learner’s needs i.e. culture, literacy and language. Identifies program objectives and outcomes. Promotes/provokes anticipatory, critical and reflective thinking. Designs, implements and facilitates programs promoting continuous quality improvement. Uses effective time management and cost effective strategies. Measures and evaluates course content and outcomes. Uses gap analysis to determine/prioritize and develop annual competencies to promote learning and patient safety. Supports orientation/onboarding of staff, including user support and training for relevant clinical and business information systems applications. Facilitates instruction and evaluation of competence through engagement of experts in radiologic procedures, phlebotomy, and the patient experience. Leader/Mentor/Advocate for Professional Development: The educator advances the profession by contributing to the professional development of others and supports life-long learning as individuals develop across practice, professional and educational settings. The educator influences interprofessional practices. Change Agent/ Partner for Practice Transitions The educator actively works to transform processes at the micro, meso and macro system levels through inspiration, adoption, and sustainment of and adaptation of change management using project management and process improvement practices. The educator supports transitions of nurses and healthcare team members across learning and practice environments, role transitions and various professional stages. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Current California RN License; BLS; valid California driver's license Electronic Health Record skills; Basic Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills. Successful completion of CottageOne credentialing program for all relevant applications within 3 months; AV applications; ease with technical applications such as search engines, online collaboration tools, and websites. 3 years recent experience in a family practice, urgent care or related clinical setting; Training, learning development or unit based education leadership experience.
