THIS POSITION IS FOR GLOUCESTER, VA The primary responsibilities of the Nurse Aide Program Coordinator are related to the day-to day operations related to the Nurse Aide Program. The Program Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of the program and its curriculum; recruitment and oversight of program admissions criteria and selection of students, teaching both classroom and clinical components, monitoring academic progression and graduation of students. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: participation with other Lifelong Health Educator initiatives, situational leadership, goals and objectives formulation and accomplishment, and systematic evaluation of educational outcomes. The Program Coordinator also serves as the instructor and is accountable for student outcomes and is a resource for students, providing support, remediation, academic counseling, and referral as needed. Primary contact with the Virginia Board of Nursing to maintain the nurse aide program by assuring compliance with all requirements . The Program Coordinator shall maintain professional competence in their specific discipline through such activities as practice, continuing education programs, conferences, workshops, seminars, academic courses, research projects, and professional writing . The Coordinator performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Educational Requirements: Education credentials must meet the respective accrediting bodies' requirements: Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program. Associate in Nursing (ADN; AAS); Bachelors (BSN) preferred. Experience Requirements: 2 years full-time, or equivalent, recent (within last 5 years) clinical experience or teaching in the specified field required, or a combination of the two prior to hire date; experience in a clinical educational setting preferred. Certification/Licensure Requirements : RN License in VA or multi-state licensure privilege to practice in VA required. CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers required. Will achieve BLS Instructional Training to teach AHA/BLS CPR within 1 year of employment.
