As the only acute care hospital with over 150 beds for 150 miles in any direction, the YRMC Emergency Department sees its fair share of trauma patients. While Yuma does not provide the inner-city experience, we do have two heli-pads to stabilize and ship patients to nearby Phoenix or San Diego hospitals, and they are typically utilized multiple times each week.
