Patients may be admitted from any of our specialty ICUs, the Emergency Department, or transferred from any other nursing unit when a patient’s status requires a higher level of care but does not require ICU care. Most patients we care for are still mechanically ventilated via tracheostomy, or require non-invasive positive pressure ventilatory support (BiPAP/CPAP).
