Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. Job Summary Under general supervision, plans, conducts and may supervise assignments. Manages and performs analysis, specification, design, development, implementation, operation and maintenance of Cardiovascular Outcomes Database applications. Responsible for coordinating care of selected patient populations throughout their hospital stay and participates in clinical process development to improve care. Uses clinical expertise and problem solving to collaborate with physician, patient, family and staff to achieve optimal clinical outcomes. Will have working knowledge of PC and Cardiovascular Outcomes Database applications to include data collection, entry, review, analysis and reporting. Functions in a project management/supervisory role and will assist in administrative responsibilities and strategic planning. Accountabilities Promote direction of the assigned program as established by the Cardiovascular Service LIne leadership. (meeting facilitation, meeting attendance, multidisciplinary functions). - 10% Establish goals and procedures, analyze design, implement, evaluate and maintain Database system based upon end-user needs.  Collect and submit required patient data.  Maintain documentation to meet regulatory standards and ensure compliance with applicable policies and guidelines. - 50% Analyzes data by identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking it down into separate parts, proposing and implementing solutions or alternative solutions. - 15% Quality improvement through tracking and facilitating compliance by medical staff with clinical practice guidelines.  Identifies and plans strategies to effect change from outcomes data.  Provides interface with the PI system.  Works in collaboration with physicians and appropriate healthcare providers for evidence based practice guidelines development, implementation and revision. - 10% Remains current on healthcare practices and information technology trends. - 5% Assists management with administrative responsibilities and clinical strategic planning. - 5% Manages project implementations, installation, acceptance testing, system education and maintenance. - 5% Supervisory/Management Responsibility This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's Degree in nursing or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. 5 years experience in a healthcare role.  Clinical cardiovascular and Quality Improvement knowledge helpful. Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses Currently licensed as RN in SC BLS and ACLS required. Other Required Skills and Experience Cardiac clinical experience Basic computer skills required. Proficient computer skills in spreadsheets, databases, and data entry.
