About Clinical Pre and Post Procedures:

The Clinical Pre & Post Procedure Unit is a 24 bed unit that provides care to the patient who has been seen in the Emergency Department and needs care related to the following diagnosis: syncope, chest pain, arrhythmias, DVT, CHF exacerbation, and Transient Ischemic Attacks (TIA symptoms cannot exceed a NIHSS of 3). CPPU also provides care and recovery to patients who have undergone the following: Cardiac Cath, PTCA, rotoblator procedures, stents (Heart and Vascular), permanent pacer insertions, EP studies (ablations, tilt table, general studies, AICD insertions), IVUS procedures, Watchman, angiograms, vertebroplasty, kyphoplasty, carotid stents (after completion of q 15 minute neuro checks), and other vascular studies/interventions. Chest Pain with Nitroglycerin up to 20mcg. CPPU is located on 5th floor and is supported by case management, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, dietitians, pharmacy, radiology and laboratory.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
  • Experience: One year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Licensure/certification/registration: Appropriate state RN licensure required.
