Description

Role Summary:

The Clinical Staff Leader (CSL), Acute Dialysis Unit, is a direct supervisory leadership role and a key member of the Nursing leadership team. The Acute Dialysis CSL leads a cohort of staff members and actively participates in overall management of the unit, development of clinical practice, and provision of patient care with accountabilities for implementation and outcomes for people leadership, quality, service, compliance, finance, throughput and scheduling. The primary focus of the Clinical Staff Leader is to ensure the unit's optimal performance by engaging in effective problem solving for staff, patients and families and to develop/lead the assigned cohort. The Clinical Staff Leader provides feedback and coaching to staff members, recognizing them for their contributions while fostering a high performance culture. The CSL works under the guidance and direction of the manager to develop.

Department/Unit Summary:

The Acute Hemodialysis/Apheresis Unit in coordination with a multi- disciplinary team specializes in the treatment of adult and pediatric patients requiring continuous and intermittent hemodialysis procedures as well as therapeutic apheresis, including therapeutic plasmapheresis, leukapheresis, LDL apheresis, therapeutic red cell exchanges and platelet depletions. The unit is comprised of eight beds including two isolation rooms. Remote procedures are performed at the patient’s bedside based on acuity level. Outpatient care is also delivered based on medical necessity deemed by providers. Nursing staff work closely with nephrology and transfusion medicine providers to help deliver optimal care to a diverse patient population that primarily consists of the greater Nashville metropolitan area as well as outlying areas in middle Tennessee, eastern and western Tennessee, south central Kentucky and northern Alabama.

Position Shift:

  • Full-time, Day Shift (Requires 2 - 12 hour shifts and 2 - 8 hour shifts with 1 Saturday shift per month)

Basic Qualifications

Other : Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN), and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred and 1 year relevant experience.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration (LCR):
