Responsible for any combination of Trauma Registry functions including data collection, case finding, abstracting, follow-up, monitoring, and statistical reporting of all trauma patients in Novant Health System. Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred. Trauma Registry Course (Trauma Centers only), required within 12 months of hire.
  • Experience: Experience in Trauma Registry, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: (AAAM) Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine (Required within 12 months of hire), required. Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry, preferred. Registered Health Information Certification, preferred. Certified Professional Coder, preferred.
  • Additional Skills (required):
    • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Excellent data entry skills required. Strong medical terminology and knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology.
    • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Additional Skills (preferred):
    • Knowledge of injury coding.
