Job Description

This position is centrally located at Roper Hospital in downtown Charleston.

Job Summary:

Comprehensive accountability and authority to expedite placement of all patients to an optimal patient care setting within Roper St. Francis Healthcare. Establishes collaborative relationships with internal and external departments which centers on the patient experience while gaining efficiency for the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduate of an accredited school or college of nursing. BSN required as of February 2022.

Experience: At least three years of recent nursing experience (recent=current or within the past year). Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina or holds a current compact/multi-state license as a Registered Nurse in a recognized NCSBN Compact State and is not a permanent resident of SC. Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card. ACLS recommended.

Knowledge/Skills: Current knowledge of clinical practice and patient care requirements for a wide variety of patient types. Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. Expert skills in communication, conflict resolution, negotiation, collaboration and problem solving. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Proactively responds and anticipates system needs.

Contacts: Constant interaction with internal & external customers to include (but not limited to) physicians, office staff, nurses, clinical managers, support services, patients, families, and visitors.
